Kick off - Pasta Dinner

We intend to have our first event on the evening of October 8, 2005, at the Top of the Plaza in Chicago (151 N. Michigan Ave. – 7 – 10 p.m.).

This coincides with a visit from the Rotterdam Running Ambassadors (RRA) to Chicago for the Chicago Marathon. The RRA counts amongst its membership the Director of the Port of Rotterdam, several deputy mayors and the Chief of Police for the City of Rotterdam. We expect to have 160 people in attendance for the event. Boudewijn van Eenennaam, the Netherlands Ambassador to the U.S. and Honorary Chair of the NAF, has already committed to attend the October 8 event in Chicago. Several companies have committed to provide sponsoring for this event and fund the initial start-up of the DCBE, including AON, ABN AMRO LaSalle, Greenberg Traurig, the Port of Rotterdam, J Events and the Consulate General of the Netherlands, and we are looking for additional sponsors.

Once you become a member in the DCBE, we have decided that you may attend the October 8 event for free with five persons at the Gold level, 2 persons at the Silver level and 1 person at the Bronze level. Non-members or other guests will have to sign up and pay the fee for the dinner, which will be $40.
